We chose this place to celebrate our friend's birthday and we went into it knowing it was a pre-fix menu - a price of $56 per person and 3 courses to choose from. Our server, who I also believe was the owner / co-owner greeted us and gave us a quick rundown of the menu and encouraged us to all try and pick something different so we could try multiple dishes. I thought about not mentioning this next part, but I felt like it's an important thing for travelers outside of Arizona to know that restaurants in AZ do not let you bring your own bottle of wine to enjoy in ANY restaurant . This is currently state-wide and I felt was an awkward start to dinner. Living in California, we can bring bottles to enjoy at dinner and usually pay a corkage fee to have the restraint open and present it. It was a bummer because we travelled with beautiful high-end wines specifically for this dinner. No dings for this - can't argue with state policy, but do want to let others know! We ended up buying a bottle of Chardonnay to enjoy with dinner. Anyway, back to Nonna! The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful for each dish. Three out of the 4 of us visiting this night are vegetarian/pescatarian. We all ordered something different and had a bite of each other's. Hands down - the favorite was the rigatoni. It wasn't even my dish and I'm still thinking about it back at home. They know their pasta! We found out the menu changes seasonally and that they do close down for short periods of time to travel back to Italy and other parts of Europe. It sounds like the inspiration of these dishes come from those visits. Don't be bummed if you catch them during a closure, it's just more reason to visit after they return!

We recently spent a weekend in Scottsdale and found Nonna Urban Eatery when looking for a nice place for dinner and made a reservation for Saturday night. The restaurant is a small but nicely laid out space that's tucked off Main Street in a little corridor of shops. The fixed price menu had some excellent selections and everything we ate was delicious. I had the tagliatelle bolognese and my wife had the flank steak for entree and they were awesome. Nonna has reasonably priced bottles wine and the desert was rich and decadent. Definitely recommend this place for a nice evening out in old town Scottsdale!

Nonna is a small restaurant that is slightly inset from the street and has a warm, cozy atmosphere. It is often booked for the evening, so making a reservation in advance is advised! As it is typically busy, it can take a bit of time for food to come to your table but the servers are very attentive and pleasant. In terms of the food, each dish seemed creatively made without being overdone. The flavors complemented each other well and portions were satisfying. Overall, a great spot to share an intimate meal with friends, family or a significant other.

The food is out of this world. $48 for three courses. The outdoor setting is city like. Lots of people stop by Nonna's but walk away, I assume because of the expense. Worth every penny in my mind. The cod was cooked perfectly. The olive oil for the bread tasted freshly pressed. My husband's bolenesse was meat filled. Pasta tasted fresh. Merlot at $40 a bottle was fine. Scallops were perfectly cooked. Beef salad excellent as well. Now the not so good. The bread was not so great and the desserts were not go great. The rice pudding was watery and the orange cake tasted like a corn sugar muffin. We will be back when a regular menu returns
